Who We Are, What We Do

Hammer Builders is owned and operated by Cindy Hammer.  We are located in Evansville, Wisconsin and build homes within about a 40 mile radius of Evansville (including, but not limited to Madison, Janesville, Edgerton, and Stoughton).

At Hammer Builders we promote Green Building Practices by using features and building practices designed to reduce the overall impact on the environment through energy and resource conservation, while protecting your family by preserving indoor air quality. The design/planning stage is where Hammer Builders helps you make important decisions on incorporating these practices into your new home. It is so important to know all of your options and the impact of your choices during the planning phase. Based on your dreams and your budget, we help you choose materials and features that are right for you.

During the building process, we work with you every step of the way.  Our approach to professional construction management is very organized and involves a lot of communication.  We are constantly talking to the Client, Subcontractors, and Suppliers throughout the entire process.  We put extra time and effort into facilitating the process so it is enjoyable for you.  Our goal is to make every Client's home-building experience pleasant, and for you to be happy with your home for years to come.

Our mission is to use the best practices and materials available to make your home the best it can be.  We are always educating ourselves on new technology, new building practices and new building materials and pass this knowledge on to our Client so you can make educated decisions on what to include in your home.  We specialize in building very energy efficient Green homes, including the use of insulated concrete form (ICF) wall systems and geothermal heating and cooling.  There are certainly various levels of Green Building, and we will incorporate the level of Green you desire into your home.   Green homes are better-designed homes.  They are energy-efficient, high performance homes, and you’re going to get more bang for your buck in more ways than one.

We build only 3 or 4 houses per year so that each customer gets the attention and service they deserve.  From first-time buyers to those that are on their third custom home, every Client gets the thought and attention they deserve.  We want you to be comfortable with the process and never feel intimidated.

We strongly believe in the quality of our workmanship. We build every house as if it is our own. Subcontractors are chosen very carefully and only those that have this same attitude are involved in our projects.  Our knowledge of the different options available during the design/planning stage and the quality project management during the process are the two things that our Clients appreciate the most.  There are other builders out there that use quality materials and provide good workmanship, but it is hard to find a builder that provides it all.

We provide very fair and straight-forward pricing.  Our bids are well thought-out during the design/planning stage.  Bids are based on what you actually want in your home, rather than providing a bid with minimal features and later adding on thousands of dollars worth of add-ons.  We provide credit back to the Client when any actual cost of an allowance item is under the contract allowance.

We include a two-year warranty.  We stand behind that warranty and provide timely, courteous service in the rare event that a warranty issue arises.
